And so it begins! 2018 commences with a lush Full Moon in the home loving sign of Cancer on January 2nd, bringing forth the need to connect with those who matter most and ensuring your emotional world is being tended to. Subtle and sensitive Neptune urges us to take a well-needed time out after the mad rush to the finish line of what was 2017. If your body says rest, please listen. Full Moon’s signify a letting go of sorts, so wrap up what needs to be left behind now. Creative and spiritual pursuits call, or at the very least, a soothing cup of tea.
It’s all systems go from the 6th of January onwards. There are some truly magnificent planetary alignments just itching to be harnessed so make hay while the sun shines. The first is a link from communication planet Mercury to innovative Uranus. Ideas and conversations are highly creative and introduce “think outside the box” solutions to a dilemma from August of last year. On the same day is the annual meeting of Mars and Jupiter. This is a force to be reckoned with! Found in the intuitive sign of Scorpio, this celestial combination is wonderful for initiating bold projects and giving you the energy and confidence to push them over the finish line. Mars is in rulership in Scorpio, giving you extra swagger. Be mindful that what you are seeking to achieve is something you care deeply about. Scorpio energy can spot the inauthentic from a mile off. The love of power or the power of love is a massive theme on the 8th, 9th and 10th of January. Stepping up to the plate in terms of what you’re willing to do for a partner, whether in romance or business, and if you’re receiving that in return will be a hot topic. The flipside of this intensity is the need for control. You can move mountains now , as the energy is epic to say the least, but check in as to any hidden agendas lurking beneath the surface. That includes your own! Discussions around freedom versus duty come off the back of this time on the 13th and 14th of the month. The Capricorn New Moon on January 17th snuggles up nice and close to Venus signifying fresh starts in love and money. With six planets crowding this ambitious sign she may work her magic in your career as well. Perfect! Although conversations will be commitment oriented stay open to changes in direction. The Sun moves into easy breezy Aquarius on January the 20th, opening the flood gates to our bi annual eclipse season. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the regal sign of Leo on the 31st sees January out with a bang! It lends conviction to make a break from whom or whatever has kept us unfulfilled. Our courage is awakened and opens the door to the future. It whispers; I’ve got your back if you’re willing to take the first step. Take a deep breath lovelies…

I just had the coolest day. There was a full Moon in Cancer, highlighting family, emotions, home and belonging. We are in the time of Capricorn, which turns our attention to history, structure, our ancestors and respect. Pluto is in the mix as well, deepening our connections and feelings. ❤️
I’ve been up all night talking to my children and both my partner and I were floored about how profound the love of family is. It was palpable. And brought such joy. 🧚♂️🧚♀️ I had some great people come for readings, one being a fantastic community elder with her equally lovely daughter. They’d travelled a very long way and the reads were so wonderful to do. It made me fall in love with my work ( how very Capricorn!) all over again. 🔥 In a culture that celebrates youth, often the wisdom of our elders gets lost. But today it was all around me and I realise now, through being a parent myself, the value of passing on your experience and life stories to the younger generations. 📖 Sure we have to earn respect, but we also have to give it. People just open up when we do. And the tales they share? Utterly inspiring. 🌏 Hope you had a great day too. Xxx💋 Sooooo...how are you feeling? ❤️
Are you looking forward to ringing in a New Year with hope and anticipation or has 2017 left you feeling a tad hung over, bewildered or blindsided? 🎉 Being a big believer in initiating things with a clear intention, I love to do the following ritual which is perfect for this time of year. It’s called write it, burn it, bury it. 📝🔥🌳 First off, get to writing your experiences for the year gone by in every shape and form. Sometimes lessons come on two legs! Jot it all down, the good, the bad and the ugly. 📝 Next use a wee terracotta or fire proof bowl and - outside please! - set the above list alight. Watch the fire transmute and cleanse the energy of 2017. Be mindful of the things you are grateful for. Even if they’re only small. 🔥 Then pop down all you wish to bring into your life for 2018. Connect with the feeling that these things would bring you instead of the object themselves. Use words like calm, peaceful, empowering, supportive, joy, harmony etc. Really go for it here. You’re writing the book of your life so why shouldn’t you? Don’t hold back. Free will is a biggie so make sure what you’re wishing for isn’t encroaching upon another’s right to choose. 📖 Now find yourself a luscious tree or indoor greenery and plant that list. Place it deep down into the soil. Water and nurture your dreams throughout the year. With dedication and devotion see those visions take hold and grow. Let nature do the rest...🌳 For those of you wanting to peer around the corner to see what January 2018 has in store, take a look at my Astro blog here...💫 http://daniellerickwood.com/january-sky-candy-report-by-de…/ A safe, happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year to all of you! Be good to others. And yourselves. Love, Deb Xxx🌏🎉💖✨💋 Whoa! Did you feel that? Did the earth move? Well Saturn sure as hell just did...🌏
Old man time, as I like to call him, finally comes home today in the sign of Capricorn. He’s in rulership...in layman’s terms, that’s super powerful. He’s getting comfortable here as well. His stay is until December 2020. Saturn can now get to work with crumbling weakened foundations and replacing them with something long lasting and sturdy to build upon. 👑 Build what? Your life, that’s what. Key themes are discipline, a sense of duty, dedication and focus. The powers that be, rules, regulations et all. It’s your raison d’être, the reason for your existence. It’s ambition, commitment and serious adulting. 👊 A word to the wise...both Capricorn and Saturn abhor egocentric free for all’s. It’s gotta mean something or there’ll be a cosmic clap back. 👏 Governments, the monarchy, corporations, financial structures of the world and the environment is where Saturn will make his impact most. We may see the emergence of a new super power. Hmmm....watch this space. ♑️ pic 📸via @lovebyluna.co |
