Some weeks glide in effortlessly, others fly under the radar. This week bolts from the stalls in spectacular fashion due to Monday’s Full Moon Lunar Eclipse or Wolf Moon to be exact. Why the Wolf? Because in the Northern Hemisphere this was the time that wolves would howl from hunger in and around the villages of India. The lack of food was from the cold. So theres something primal about this lunation. Something pack like and instinctual. The sign that the Eclipse falls in is Leo, sitting at a very potent 0 degrees. Issues around loyalty will roar as will protecting what is ours. Lunar eclipses essentially black out the light of our lady Luna, High Priestess of all things emotion, family, home and nurturing. They reset our emotional responses but sometimes not without upsetting our norm first.
Coupled with this energy are links from the Moon and Mercury to Uranus, the zodiac’s wildcard. There is much pent up emotion just itching to come out resulting in fatigue and lack of concentration. People and things behave in decidedly, ermmmm, unique ways. Uranus values freedom and originality. On the flip side there's knee jerk reactions, lack of commitment and rebelliousness. So you see here that this Moon has quite the signature. Don’t go throwing your whole life away based on a whim, if you can’t keep calm and carry anything then find a nice quiet place to lose your crap and do look at unusual solutions to existing problems. This Moon also links beautifully to Ceres, goddess of nutrition, Providence and fertility. Lovely. There is bounty to be had by not getting swept away in the chaos.
Venus is meeting up with the mysterious Neptune, blurring lines and creating romantic illusions. Still, brilliant for the creativity. Mars trips over Saturn and obstacles result but patience can be borne from a tactical approach. All of this on the 21st of January. Heck.
On the 22nd of the month Venus is right back in the spotlight with glorious Jupiter. This aspect won’t happen again until November so grab hold of the potential that manifests when these two benefics unite. Finances, happiness and relationships all reap the rewards from this combo. Ahhh…optimism. Such a feel good transit as long as we don’t go completely over the top and crack onto the boss or something. Mercury meets with the nodes that day so something will shift in the way in which we communicate and present our thoughts.
Speaking of...Uranus short circuits Mercury on the 23rd of January which I’ve discussed a bit above. Today it is exact. Machinery and cars can go haywire although we can hatch some brilliant plans. Just make sure you follow through. It's a tad temperamental this one.
On the 24th of the month, Mercury, once again, is on the move. This time into the sign of easy breezy Aquarius until February the 10th. These two aligned are stubborn, utterly strategic and cooly detached. Seek out those who support your ethos and with whom you can be utterly yourself. Just be you. Everyone else is taken.
On the 25th of January macho Mars joins forces with bountiful Jupiter so if you want to throw your all into a project, now is the time. Not only is this awesome for physical prowess, especially in the fire signs of Aries and Sagittarius respectively, but its perfect for knocking holes through the walls presented early this week. Great for confidence, productivity and creativity.
Go get em tigers. Have a brilliant week. xoxo
There is an ebb and a flow to all things and thats something to take into account over the next 7 days. We cannot have one without the other. Too much activity breeds nervous tension. The details get overlooked. Ennui is borne from not having enough.
Sooo, anyone up for a gentle walk outdoors, lovely yoga class or watching a beautiful film? Ummmm, me. Always! Well, we may just get the opportunity very early in the week, when luscious Neptune, ruler of heightened perception and spirituality aligns with communication planet Mercury. This aspect is great for unpacking the heaviness of last week and just being. Our psychic antennae is finely tuned as is our sensitivity. Gorgeous for meditation, creativity, connecting soulfully. Ahhh and music. Mind the details though if needing full blown facts and practicality. Use this time to recharge your batteries because the week seems to get more intense as it goes on. Pencil in the 14th of January for that afternoon stroll.
Whoa mamma, can you feel it in the air? Feel what you ask? A sense of energy building. And what energy it is! Firstly, on the 18th of the month, sensual Venus forms a truly harmonious link to passionate Mars. Oh, so lovely! Venus doesn’t feel overpowered by Mars but is complimented. Supported. Friendships, harmonious romantic associations and joyous social occasions are highlighted. A great time to not only show someone you love them but like them to boot. Keep it light.
This may be a tad tricky because on the same day Mercury joins forces with watchful Pluto. By nature these two planets, upon meeting, push things deep. I mean really deep. Fantastic for nutting out what makes you and others tick, honest evaluations of ourselves and our lives and anything that requires immense concentration and focus. Not so good for forcing your agenda or coming on too strong. Just because you want to go there doesn’t necessarily mean someone else is comfortable to do so. Be sensitive and kind. This combo can sting if it's misbehaving.
Alright here we go. Expect the unexpected on the 19th of January. It's as simple as that. The tradition bound Capricorn Sun squares off to future oriented Uranus in the final degrees of Aries. Fireworks or clashes of wills result. Of course it doesn’t have to play out this way but both signs don’t like to back down and both planets are very much do as they please. Approach today with a sense of open mindedness and a willingness to listen. Machinery or vehicles could throw major tantrums today as could our egos and nervous systems. If the old way won’t cut the mustard consider an innovative solution instead.
Speaking of, Aquarius, the sign that is ruled both by conservative Saturn and out there Uranus, begins its time in the Sun on the 20th of the month until February the 18th. This gives us a reprieve of sorts from all the testing of our foundations from the last month to seeing how we wish to build upon those blocks. It is the time to reach outward to friendship groups and people who can inspire us, potentially by tipping the status quo on its head. If something’s gotta go it’s gotta go. Keep that in mind for the upcoming Lunar Eclipse next week. Wink wink.
Be super good to you! Catch you on the flip side. xoxo
January 7 to 13
Well, this week is definitely about power. How to get it, how to hold it, how to wield it. The trick here is to not get entangled in other people’s delusions of grandeur or hidden agenda’s. Folks may be prickly, defensive or overly opinionated, especially early in the week. Differences of opinions could easily turn into heated discussions so remember the motto “Keep calm - insert: have a cup of tea, go for a run, have a bath … whatever works right? - and carry on”. Are we clear? Crystal.
On the 7th of January sensual Venus moves…finally! … into easy breezy Sagittarius. Worn out from the deep soul diving re love and finances of the last few months? Things just got a little, lighter. Fresher. Cheekier. I always think of Venus in Sag as that feeling you have after a really great yoga class, beautiful swim or a gorgeous dance. You’re invigorated, more alive and maybe even a little flirty. You’re optimistic and refreshed. You feel more prepared to get out there and live as you’re strong and present. Use this energy to connect with those of a like mind, explore and make your world a little larger. She’s in the sign of the Archer until February the 5th.
On the 8th of the month our think planet Mercury, newly in steadfast Capricorn, locks horns with Mars in Aries. And I mean literally locking horns. Mars is in rulership here so he’s not taking any prisoners. But Capricorn energy is cautious and calculated so he’s a formidable opponent. Expect dynamic conversations, rash decision making and temper tantrums as a likely result. This duo is wonderful for giving your opinion in a very clear, no holds barred manner, but just make sure you’re not going too o.t.t. Less is more today. Also watch the lead foot whilst driving.
On the 11th of January The Sun, also in the sign of earthy Capricorn, joins forces with powerful Pluto. The next time this happens will be in early 2020. This is an intense time when we ask ourselves “why am I here?’, “what is my purpose?”. We need to really dig deep to uncover the truth. Pluto is great at excavation mind you, so ask away. But be prepared for a radically honest answer. Don’t get dragged into power struggles and keep in your own lane, eyes on your destination.

Stepping into your power
Chatty Mercury once again meets up with a big shot planet on the 13th of the month. This time it is serious Saturn. Actually we may be feeling decidedly un-chatty today. Our powers of observation are greatly honed as is our ability to discard frivolous or useless information. Mind you, conversations can grind to a halt under this transit or anything associated with Mercury. Telephones, the internet, means of transport, deliveries etc. This is a major reality check but a necessary one. It can help you anchor a plan and give it legs.
On the same day expansive Jupiter becomes ensnared in Neptune’s long tendrils. This is the first of three meetings for these planets for 2019, therefore an astrological signature of the year. Jupiter loves to push boundaries and explore the realms of ideals, our potential and the seeking of wisdom. It thinks globally. Neptune is spiritual, soulful and creative. It can also blur lines and dissolve boundaries. See the dilemma when these two meet up in a tense aspect? We have the need to create change and explore unchartered territory but may not have the appropriate information or vision to carry it forward. Hell, we may not even have the energy! This can bring disillusionment or disappointment. Clashes of ideologies, ethics and morals abound. Avoid dodgy schemes, gurus and righteousness at all costs. Live and let live. Great for taking time out for healing, creative pursuits and reconnecting to your spirit so please do so.
Enjoy! Wishing you a beautiful week. See you on the 14th! xoxo
January 1 to 6
If you wanted the New Year to begin with a bang, then tip your hat to feisty Mars, who moves into home sign Aries on the first of the month. This planet, after spending what seemed like an eternity contemplating it’s navel - well, most of 2018 anyway - is finally moving in the right direction and in rulership. Read raring to go. Confident. Sassy. Life jolts forward and dreams ignite. The pace quickens. Energy levels are on the rise so you’ll be able to keep up. Talk about kickstarting 2019! It will reside in La Casa Aries until February the 14th.
Mars in Aries themes:
Strong gut instincts
On the second of January stable and grounding Saturn basks in the rays of the Sun. Both planets are in serious Capricorn, which will cause us to really take stock of how we want this year to pan out. Sure, its a reality check, but its vision is structured and long term. Good for increasing confidence as long as you’re very honest as to your abilities. Keep your eye on the top of the mountain and take one step at a time. Endurance baby.
The fourth of January see’s clever clogs Mercury meet harmoniously with a stationing Uranus. The latter is getting ready to shift gears and move forward once again. In the final degrees of its time in Aries, this planet of freedom, game changing and innovation is super potent, so use the fire energy to think about how you can harness your passions in order to move life to the next level. There can be some very illuminating conversations today.
On the same day the Capricorn Sun tangoes with luscious Neptune in Pisces. These two planets aligned are wonderfully creative, imaginative and potentially spiritually inclined. All in all the 4th of the month is great for ideas that change the status quo and are of benefit to others. Each one teach one.
Our think planet, Mercury, is actually quite busy this week. On the 5th of January it changes signs from optimistic Sagittarius to practical Capricorn, until January the 24th. The seeds that were born over the last few months are now planted where they take root and grow. You may not see much going on on the surface, but they will be there, doing what nature does best. Mercury in an earth sign has a habit of making things flourish.
The week ends with a crescendo on the 6th of January due to the partial Solar eclipse in rock solid Capricorn. Yes, we are back to eclipse season lovelies! This is like an O.T.T. New Moon. The effects are far reaching and will take us to early July, 2019. The Sun, Moon, Saturn, Pluto and Neptune are all involved here. Not only that but Uranus, our planet of revolution moves forwards the same day. Solar Eclipses are great for writing goals, fresh starts, instigating change and often coincide with significant events. The ambitious Capricorn energy is great for locking and loading and building strong foundations.
Capricorn Partial Solar Eclipse themes:
Stripping away the dead wood
Unveiling yours and others highest calling
Being of service
London January 6th 1:28am
Sydney January 6th 12:28pm
New York January 5th 8:28pm
And there you have it. Enjoy the week! See you Monday. Be good to you. xxx
I’m not a big believer in labelling particular years as “good” or “bad”, after all, its only a day that separates years. But there are some which get right up under your nose, or prove more trying than others. The old Annus horribilis one two punch as Her Majesty famously quoted. 2018 may have been especially taxing for many, as our most personal planets went awol and royally stuffed up the most well laid out plans. The relationships we had at years beginning are not the ones we are left with at years end. Not by a long shot. That includes the ones we have with ourselves.
December sees the last of this retrograde confusion when Mercury, our ideas and thinking planet, moves forward on the 6th of the month. With the overwhelming majority of the heavens hitting the ground running, so now, should we. As above, so below. Sure, it’ll take until the 24th for the fog to truly lift but expect to see conversations that were thrown into disarray from as early as October the 28th to be finally, mercifully, dealt with. Case closed. And when I say fog, I truly mean it. This retrograde's “signature" if you will, was a nasty little square to Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion and deception. These two planets in an uncomfortable aspect can really bring out those darker qualities in those willing to go there. Unfortunately, many did.
Mercury is in Scorpio - again - from December the 1st until the 12th, aiding us to dig deep and reassess a core issue that has been lurking with intent from late October. Whilst Scorpio energy can be secretive it can also be bitingly honest. Do take the high road. Even if it gives you a nose bleed.
The first day of the month also sees Lady Love Venus in the final tangle with wildcard Uranus for the year. Amour and cold hard cash have been prone to more than a few twists and turns. There may have been a few shocks along the way. You can effectively shimmy out of themes from September the 12th and October the 31st now. All breathe a collective sigh. Ahhhh freedom.
Venus slips into Scorpio’s deep waters once again on December the 2nd where she will languish until January the 7th 2019. Pencil in the 17th of December when the recent Venus retrograde comes full circle and is released. Healing steps in where our self worth, value or values took a nose dive. If anyone or thing has made you feel less than, especially since early September, use the restorative waters of this powerful sign to crest the wave and swim away to inner calm.
Can you feel the shift of the first few days of December? Like cleaning up after the storm. Get your buckets ready!
The 3rd and the 5th of the month see’s the Sun in expansive Sagittarius wrangle first with feisty Mars and then with dreamy Neptune. Actions initiated on the 3rd may become as clear as mud on the 5th. If in doubt, don’t.
These two planets are pivotal in the New Moon in Sagittarius on the 7th of December. The sign of the Archer is focussed, forthright and maybe a tad too honest at times. With Mars and most importantly Neptune in the equation, issues surrounding anger, resentment, competitors and our will veer into decidedly murky territory and potentially become underhanded, unethical, confusing and at worst immoral. The making of or the spilling of secrets is another joyous possibility. The heightening of our creativity and romantic natures abounds, but do, I implore you, play nice. And fair. Anyone hear passive aggression? I sure as hell did. The best way to use this time is to act with sheer integrity, for it costs nothing, even if others seem to be profiting by swimming in the gutter. Spirit sees all, and takes note accordingly. We all have to pay the piper one day.
Forward thinking Uranus inches forward from the Anaretic or 29th degree on the same day, liberating and encouraging us to relight our fires and rethink our strategies until March of 2019. Make hay whilst the Sun shines pilgrims.
Busy Mercury leaps back into fiery Sagittarius on the 12th of December where it will roam until January the 5th 2019. All that pensive navel gazing of the last few months gets put into action now. Watch your mouth during this time because, boy oh boy, Sagittarius is a straight shooter and abhors B.S. Make sure you’ve got your facts straight before jumping off the deep end. That goes double for December the 25th.
The 16th of December until the 21st of the month feels filled with promise. There are some very beautiful and supportive transits during this time. Loving Venus to stable Saturn on the 16th anchors plans made around relationships and finances, sexy Mars to passionate Pluto on the 17th encourages stamina and resurrecting your purpose and those of your dreams, the warm and creative Sun to innovative Uranus on the 20th urges you to think outside the box, Venus to wistful Neptune on the 21st gently brings in romance and soul connections. Clever Mercury joins with optimistic Jupiter on the same day, opening your eyes and your heart to all of life's potential. This particular transit won’t happen again until January of 2020 so dream big baby. Lordy, it's a biggie.
The Sun moves into conscientious Capricorn on the 21st of the month to boot. Those dreams just got a beautiful foundation from which to take seed and grow. It stays in this ambitious Earth Sign until January the 20th 2019.
The Cancer Full Moon on December the 22nd is like a lightbulb flickering on. Theres something amazing when the Moon moves into its home sign and this one really wants to see you leave behind the crap storm of the last few months. Especially from late July of this year. How have you changed? Aspects to groundbreaking Uranus have you looking at your emotional world in a completely different light and right in time for the ending of the year that was 2018. Sounds good to me Mamma. The Venus/ Neptune contact is super strong with this Moon, enhancing our more noble qualities and embracing fellowship. Lovely.
Navigate your way through Christmas Day, December the 25th, as the undercurrents from the 12th of the month are back. Don’t get swept away in someone else’s drama. Don’t play anyone for a fool. And don’t be anyones fool.
The 28th of December rounds out the years end nicely as gorgeous Venus and the Phoenix Pluto unite harmoniously. This is brilliant for restoring depleted energies, implementing self care and coming back looking and feeling better than ever. And right in time for New Years. As Elizabeth Taylor once said “ Pour yourself a drink, put on some lipstick and pull yourself together.” Let the naysayers step off. You’ve only got one life and its yours to celebrate. Shoot for the stars.
An Annus mirabilus - a wonderful year - to you all. Catch you on the flip side lovers. xxx

Theres a changing of the guard this coming month with much of the energy that has been on hold or off kilter for a lot of the year shifting signs or moving in a forwards direction. Praise be. In fact, November may prove to be a hang onto your hats time where you hit the ground running and finally get the green light to move ahead. Pacing yourself is paramount as is knowing exactly in which direction you want to be heading. Those worn out by the trench warfare of the last few months are advised to take stock, get back to basics and begin rebuilding their dreams, one brick at a time. No one can take your dream unless you let them. Don’t let them.
Bear in mind we are still in the Venus retrograde period which began on October the 6th. In the final two weeks, from the 3rd until the 16th of November we can see the darker elements of the retrograde come to light. This is because she’s shifting from the more subtle, vulnerable and creative side of Venus into the more obsessive, materialistic and sexual facets of her nature. If you’re tempted to play with fire you’d better some A grade oven mitts. Aaaand probably not the most amazing time to blow the budget.
The week of the 5th until the 11th of November will open the flood gates of change. On the 6th of the month idealistic Neptune is supported beautifully by the light of the Sun. Spiritual and soulful connections are on offer as is an abundance of creativity and the willingness to give someone a hand up. Not a hand out mind you.
On the same day wild card Uranus retreats back into trailblazing Aries. When it finally leaves in March of 2019 it won’t be visiting this sign for another 84 years. Whatever you’ve learned over the last 8 years in terms of asserting your individuality, taking calculated risks, authenticity and just flat out not apologising for being you will be given a final review before it moves into practical Taurus to stay for a while. This planet, in this particular fire sign of the Ram, pushes for action, change and is inherently restless. That aforementioned green light just got a shade more green.
The 6th of November also sees the shifting of the Nodal Axis from the signs of Leo and Aquarius to Cancer and Capricorn where they will stay for approximately 18 months. The nodes you ask? Yes, those mystical points in the sky that reveal innate skills and talents and help us unlock the door to our destiny. The "where are you coming from?" vs "where are you going?". Whats the meaning of life? Expect those with strong Cancer and Capricorn planets especially to welcome in change. But for all of us the onus is on work life balance, responsibilities toward home and family and our achievements. This is especially so because aforementioned rebel planet Uranus runs headlong into the nodes on the day they shift signs. Goodbye playing by everyone else's rules, hello I did it my way. Thanks to you Frankie S.
The Scorpio New Moon on November the 7th is bolstered by the North Node, freshly in Cancer. Auspicious beginnings to do with the way in which we live, our dwellings and how we view emotional support are highlighted. Brilliant. Whats more the Moon is meeting with soulful Neptune enhancing altruism and imagination. This is not the Moon for purely selfish motives but for the “you’re okay, I’m okay approach.” The ruler of this Moon, energetic Mars is in a lovely aspect to loving Venus and motherly Ceres giving the desire for companionship, warmth in connections with others and emotional support. The other ( modern ) Ruler of this Moon, passionate Pluto, forms an encouraging link, bringing depth and focus. Scorpio has the laser beam stare and sees through B.S. in a heartbeat. We all have Scorpio somewhere in our charts so use this energy today. B.S be gone!
On the 8th of the month expansive Jupiter finally comes home in the sign of the Archer, Sagittarius, after 12 long years. It will stay in la casa Saggie until December 2019. What can I say? Here forward thinking and optimistic Jupiter really gets to spread its wings and take flight. Imagine a horse breaking free and running unhindered at full capacity. Awesome image huh? Here our inner truth seeker is unleashed, sometimes quite literally, upon the world. Key themes of travel, exploring, seeking knowledge, faith systems, mentors and simpatico friendships are highlighted. Screw thinking small, give me the juice. Religion, ethics and morals also fall here and we can get on our high horse about certain beliefs. Live and let live I say. Remember that one. Its bound come up more than once over the next year or I’ll eat my hat.
On the 9th of November Venus snuggles Mars. Even though she is still in retrograde its a sweet connection with a sprinkle of spice. Purr.
The 11th of the month has the radiant Sun meeting powerful Pluto. This is a good time for business meetings and discussing long range objectives. Rejuvenate and replenish.
Mars is head honcho on the 15th of November. For an inordinately long time this year he has been flitting between stubborn Aquarius and über disciplined Capricorn. Now Pisces steps up to the plate. Until December the 31st this planet of action and drive will be perusing the depths of this sensitive water sign. Listening to your inner voice, intuition, creativity, the need to withdraw, actively seeking peace and the gentle assertion of boundaries will call. Right before it switches signs, Mars will get a spark of inspiration from forward thinking Uranus, urging us to throw off the shackles of the last 8 months. Dive right in baby.
Venus glides forward once more on the 16th of November. And we all breathe a collective thank feck. Since October the 6th she’s shown us what we and others are made of, sometimes to a painful conclusion, our worth and attitudes towards our lovability. Finances got a look in too. Resolution to late September and early October’s issues is likely, even if it takes until the early stages of December to see more clearly.
Also on this day intellectual Mercury, gallivanting through the sign of Sagittarius, retreats into retrograde until December the 6th. The usual double checking of facts, reviewing contracts, backing up of our devices etc applies along with a rather large helping of not putting your foot in it. My old Dad has an expression, “ they only open their mouths to change feet.” This goes to the nth degree now.
Mars and Jupiter get into a turf war on the 20th of the month. Both of these planets are masculine and feisty so find it hard to back down. Spats over values and the “right way” to do something abound. Mars being in Pisces could resort to underhanded tactics but if it takes the high road much can be accomplished today.
The creative Sun moves into fire sign of Sagittarius on the 22nd of November until December 21. Happy birthday Saggies! Life gets a wee bit more free n easy, fun n breezy. Phew!
The last week of the month has a dizzying array of aspects. Are you ready? Lets go!
The Gemini Full Moon falls on the 23rd of November and brings forth the aforementioned Mars and Jupiter spark. This spark, along with the sensitive and mercurial nature of the Moon could potentially ignite into a war of words, grandiose behaviour and rash decision making. Taking time outs, walking around the block or switching off your phone are ways in which to circumvent some the the erratic energy attached to this lunation. Be mindful that the ruler of this Moon, Mercury, is retrograde, therefore not operating at its strongest. The spilling of secrets and careless handling of the truth is to be avoided. Forewarned is forearmed.
On the 24th of the month Neptune, which has been in retrograde since June of this year begins to inch forward. All of those lessons about our soul's calling, creativity and now much we are willing to give of ourselves gets put into action. Finding a peaceful corner of the world becomes more important. Just breathe.
The 26th and the 27th of November are loaded with promise. The light of the Sun shines upon the ever hopeful Jupiter. The next time this aspect will come into play will be in December of next year so take full advantage of this beautiful combination. Dream big and harness opportunities for positive growth in all areas of life from the spiritual to the professional.
Think planet Mercury squares off to Mars and aligns with the Sun and Jupiter, igniting our collective imaginations but can also inflame the already contentious issues burning from the Full Moon. Bite. Your. Tongue. And remain optimistic. This is an amazing time full of potential and vision. Remember the Sagittarius archetype loves a goal. And Lordy, its got to believe in that dream. What do you believe in? You’ll find out now.
Lastly, Venus rubs the North Node the wrong way on the 28th of the month and then gets in a bind with disruptive Uranus on the 30th. Any financial promises made a few days ago are bound to undergo the pressure test and relationships are put through their paces to see if they’ve got the glue to carry you forward into the future. Those worth their weight will breeze through, ruffled feathers aside.
As you can see November is pivotal. Its what many have been waiting for. Its about building our energy, our power again. To use classic Scorpio imagery, it is the Phoenix rising from the ashes. Keep on keeping on. Repeat after me “ I can. I will. End of story.” Nuff said. Good luck. xx
This month there seems to be a lot to get off our chests, mull over and brainstorm. The reason being? Mercury. This little ball of quicksilver is super active and governs all things communication, including writing, your neighbourhood and zee internet. It also rules the signing of contracts and siblings so expect these topics to be hot tamales. A word to the wise... Mercury has many faces so be sure not to become entangled with those who have two of them ie; gossip, malice or out and out bullshit. Never a good look. October is definitely the month to work on your message with truth and integrity. Best hop to it.
Aaaaaand then there is Venus. Blessed star. She’s in a bit of a tangle this month and into the next. Remember all those retrograde planets a few months ago? Always one to make an entrance, Venus is being fashionably late and deciding to retrace her steps from the 6th of October until November 16th. She will progress from the deep and pensive waters of Scorpio back into the egalitarian cool of Libra. This unusual astrological event may bring back memories from October 2010 when she last crossed this part of the sky. The final two weeks in particular are not the best times to get get hot and heavy with someone who’s looky looky - no touchy, extend beyond our means financially, go wild with a new look or let our jealousy get the better of us. Venus retrograde is wonderful, however, for returning something to its former glory, restoring it with love and care and seeing the beauty or value in something that has been discarded. Ourselves included.
Venus retrograde key themes:
On the 3rd of the month talk planet Mercury has a tête-à-tête with provocative Pluto. Conversations are laden with undercurrents and possible power plays so count to ten before you hit the nuke button if you value the other person. Great for redefining boundaries though.
Venus begins her 40 days and 40 nights retreat on October 6th until November the 16th. Take on board that others may be more than a little jangled at this time as she meets up with our planet of change, Uranus, during this transit. Kindness goes a long way now.
Ahhh, hug it out.
The week of the 9th to the 16th of the month packs a punch. Mars finally leaves its shadow point where it has been crossing since June the 26th of this year, freeing us from the false starts and crossed wires that have plagued us since then. The pace of life picks up.
The October New Moon falls in the sign of Libra on the 9th of the month. The ruler of this Moon, Venus, newly retrograde, is in a much more contemplative mood so whatever fresh starts are borne around companionship or the achieving and maintaining of balance and harmony in our lives may take until next month to really anchor. This Moon is square to passionate Pluto and Venus is also days away from locking horns with Mars so be mindful not to get dragged into others drama or forcing your own agenda.
Mercury moves into penetrative Scorpio on the 10th of October where it will stay until the 31st of the month. Here our minds are turned to the more hidden aspects of our characters. Having difficult conversations or really getting to the heart of what is on peoples minds will be heightened. The very same day it opposes revolutionary Uranus tipping the status quo completely on its head. Exciting breakthroughs are as on the cards as giving someone the royal salute. Your choice today baby.
Venus squares off to action stations Mars on the 11th of the month. This is all hot under the collar type stuff and our desire natures can be a tad wild. Avoid coming on too strong and overspending. Mercury angles the nodes on the same day giving us a long hard think about our future direction. If in doubt, chat with those you most respect.
The gorgeous Sun squares off to powerful Pluto on October the 12th. Topics of ego, responsibilities and how much energy to expend upon a particular task arise. Luckily talk planet Mercury comes to a reasonable solution with steady Saturn, softening the connection.
On the 15th of the month Mercury and Venus intertwine. Both of these planets have been in the spotlight and together they make beautiful music, sweet conversations and create opportunities to do with love and money. Lovely.
On October the 19th chatty Mercury and fisty cuffs Mars have a whack at each other. Rashness in speech and action is clearly to be side-stepped. Avoid being a lead foot behind the wheel to boot. Temper directness with diplomacy.
Mercury once again makes a connection to transformative Pluto on October the 22nd but this time they work more in harmony. Gather around you those who wish to see you rise, evolve and embrace a better way of being. Become the Phoenix and soar. Others may call upon you to teach or educate.
The Sun moves into ever watchful Scorpio on the 23rd of the month until November 22nd, bringing the total number of planets in this soulful sign to four. Forming deep bonds and owning our power are in the collective conscience now. Happy Birthday Scorps!
The Full Moon in luscious Taurus on the 24th of the month falls bang on firecracker Uranus. How decidedly un-Taurean. Taurus and its opposing sign Scorpio are risk and change averse and this planet encourages both. Expect our notions of safety and security to be challenged now but do not fear the changes being presented. The ruler of this moon, Venus, meets with serious Saturn, bringing encouragement and focus. Life is a series of evolutions and without new perspective we would just wither away, our potential untouched. This is where your future self meets your present. Welcome them in with loving arms.
On the 26th of October gentle Venus is warmed by the gaze of the Sun. This is a very romantic, uplifting combination and heightens creativity and sociability. Those normally shy or lonely may find the courage to get out there a little more now. Let life reveal itself and keep an open mind.
On the 28th of the month the dynamic Sun connects with grounded Saturn and tends to our hopes and dreams. Where are you heading? What do you want to see take hold and grow in your life? Have a long hard think and get to making it happen today.
The final few days of this very busy month are once again the domain of imaginative Mercury and sensual Venus.
Mercury and the ever optimistic Jupiter meet up on the 29th of October and once again conversations about our future and our heartfelt desires are all around us. This is a very expansive energy but do be careful not to promise something you have no intention on delivering and avoid embellishing the facts or gossip. No one likes a motor mouth.
The 31st of the month sees October out with fanfare as Mercury shifts signs into visionary Sagittarius all the way into December. This takes the aforementioned expansive energy into overdrive and urges us to wish upon a star. It will also kiss the North Node, the point of our destiny, encouraging to hitch our wagon to that star. The eye of the Centaur is focussed, determined and undistracted. Lock in to the bullseye, aim and shoot.
Lush Venus opposes groundbreaking Uranus and slips back into Libra on the final day of October, shaking up what and who we are expected to be in terms of love, relating and attracting what we really want into our lives. Knee jerk reactions are likely around freedom, money, individuality and passion. An all out revolt could be waged if you try and fight the tide of change flowing into your life so ultimatum issuing should be taken with extreme caution.
This month has been all about our integrity. Our WORD. And the effect it has upon those who know us best. Our view on the most intimate part of our lives has been altered in some way. We are more honest and have been shown, for good or not so much, whom we can trust. Who remains loyal? We have been called to the waters edge and are beckoned to shed our skin and jump in. Upon exiting, in November, we emerge cleaner, more raw, real and ultimately much more refreshed. I’m in. Dare you take the plunge?
Catch you on the flip side lovers. xxxx

Ahhhhh September. Finally you are here. Truth be told I’ve been looking forward to a reprieve from all the madness of eclipse season. With the majority of planets in earth signs for most of this month expect to see a shift from desire to practicalities. Work and functionality will also appeal. The planet of responsibility and longevity, Saturn, begins to inch forward once again after turning its gaze inward since April. Wisdom gleaned over the past few months in all matters career, productivity and reputation will be implemented now. Head down, tush up. Its time to get to work!
Conversations prove fruitful on September the 3rd if you’re wanting to get your message heard. People are responsive after some patience, humility and a teensy bit of buttering up. Eyelash flutter.
Saturn turns direct on the 6th of the month, turning our energies outward once again in the area of achievement, foundations and honouring our word. Reliability may have been hard to come by over the last 5 months with a string of broken promises but expect people to walk their talk more now. Or be expected to do so! Mercury comes home in the sign of Virgo on the very same day highlighting diligence and attention to detail. You may want to care more for your body at this time too. Healthy mind et all. It stays there until September 21.
There is a lovely connection between communicative Mercury, revolutionary Uranus and stable Saturn on the 7th of September. Progressive ideas are met with the right support to take root and grow. Those in authority are more responsive to change as long as you’ve done your homework. Also on this date there is a link between the analytical Virgo Sun and idealistic Neptune. Dot your i’s and cross your t’s and know the difference between what is achievable and what is a drain on your energies. Nevertheless, it is a day to dream.
On the 8th of the month sensual Venus gets into a bit of hot water with fiesty Mars. Clashes of values, physical needs and temperaments are likely. It can also get a bit "boom chica wow wow "so you know what to do with that.
A hotbed of astro activity begins on the 9th until the 11th of September beginning with the Virgo New Moon and Venus’ move into the deep waters of Scorpio. In our sign of grace, order and service, this moon is a highly creative one, thanks to links from dynamic Jupiter and intense Pluto. There will be a need to find an outlet for our innermost wish to transform our life into a more authentic version of itself. This can be sexual, artistic or physical in nature. Thwarted, expect to see the shadow energies of suspicion and resentment rear their pretty little heads. Lions and tigers and bears…oh my! This is heightened by the Scorpio flavour our love and values planet will have on and off until January of next year. Venus isn’t entirely comfortable here and is preparing for her retrograde in October so passions will run hot but potentially be a little compulsive. Breathe in strength and dignity and breathe out the green eyed monster.
Themes from May could reemerge on the 11th of September all the way into November 2018. Mars moves back into the sign of Aquarius after its recent retro wobble giving us a second chance at asserting our need for individuality and freedom. We will be much more inclined to follow through on an idea now and will yearn to find those of a like mind. The Sun’s warm light combines with Pluto and lucky Jupiter, giving the confidence to do so.
The 12th of September until the 16th of the month is very much the domain of loving Venus and chatty Mercury. Venus tangoes with wildcard Uranus spurring unusual attractions and unexpected spending. Thankfully it calms down the next day, on the 13th, after Saturn brings a dose of grounding. Phew. If something gets lost in translation; think texts, emails, paperwork on the 14th, try again on the 16th of September when the message will get through loud and clear. An early fumble could result in a touchdown.
Be aware of some rather tumultuous astro weather on the 18th of September. An old grievance from May 11 to the 16th of this year could resurface. This would involve two very differing opinions. Knee jerk reactions are likely so keep calm and carry on.
The Sun meets intelligent Mercury in its ruling sign of Virgo on the 21st of the month. This is a brilliant day for not only brainstorming but coming up with a viable plan in the application of those ideas. Make hay whilst the sun shines.
Libra energy ushers in from the 22nd of the month with Mercury and then the following day, the Sun, occupying that part of the sky. Mercury stays until October 9th and the Sun until October the 23rd. Diplomacy and tact are highly valued now as is the subject of relationships. These are not only romantic but also work, familial and social.
After an initial run in with serious Saturn things calm down and are supported by some wonderful links to enthusiastic Mars on the 24th and then again on the 27th. The urge to be with those you love and admire will be strong.
The monthly Full Moon falls in the famously independent sign of Aries on the 25th of September.
This is a restless, passionate and surprisingly vulnerable Moon due to various aspects to Saturn, Mars and Mercury. Any feelings that arise of being unable to ask for what you want, a lack of support or being emotionally isolated are best channelled into doing what you love for all the right reasons, spending quality time alone and active self care. The ruler of this Moon, the aforementioned Mars, meets with the South Node on the 26th of the month, triggering outmoded beliefs to do with masculinity, what we are willing to fight for and where and with whom we place our energies. You may find you walk away from something you’ve fought long and hard for because it is actually better for you in the long term. Those from your past can reappear at this time as well so pop on your best dress or invisible cape depending upon how how feel!
Last but by no means least, transformative Pluto moves forward on the 30th of September. This is the classic phoenix rising from the ashes. Since April the 22nd this planet has turned your attention to how you wield your power or who wields theirs over you. You may have had one part of your life completely dominate and now is the time to take stock and step back into the drivers seat. Pluto gives us the most remarkable ability to sift through the ashes and rise once again. Stand tall. Stand proud. You've earned your wings. Use them wisely. xxx

Forgive me for my tardiness. This retrograde ensemble has, it seems, reversed all over me and literally taken the wind out of my sails. Whilst I’m loathe to ever use astrology as an excuse for, well, life just happening, I’ve watched the dates closely and this time seems to be doing a fantastic two step all over my chart. Onwards and upwards as my Mum always says…
Welcome to August babies. This month looks set to be pivotal, full of intrigue and with just the right amount of drama that this Leo time thrives on. Throughout the next 31 days we will have half the skies and one major asteroid in contemplation mode or retrograde as us stargazers like to call it. The pent up energy of July continues with no apparent reprieve but the calvary is coming, trust me on this. Even if they feel somewhat far off in the distance and ohhhhh, sans compass, map, clue.
Keep this in mind on the 2nd of the month when rebellious Uranus clashes with a tetchy and worn out Mars. The latter chunk of rock is still in retrograde and not up to being tested. Neither are we. Outbursts and outings of secrets or opinions are high on the agenda today. Those who keep calm, speak softly and carry a big stick are rewarded, even if it takes a few weeks for the dust to settle. Tantrum throwing and ruthlessness most definitely are not.
Plans made together for a brighter future are written on the 6th of August, especially if this protects forthcoming generations. The hopeful Sun meets expansive Jupiter broadening our visions and urging us to connect with others. Venus comes home in the sign of savvy Libra on the same day where she will stay on and off until December. You will seek more peace and harmony with those around you and fairness and balance will be strong themes. Libra and nature both abhor a vacuum but make sure that you fill your life with something of meaning, not what you think you need to be liked or loved.
Revolutionary Uranus shifts gears on the 7th of the month and adds to the tally of 6 planets in retrograde. At what cost individuality? What does freedom mean to you? These questions and more will be on your mind until January 2019.
The 8th and 9th of August is lively, sociable and sparks attractions of the romantic and intellectual kind. Oh la la! Get out there and enjoy!
Lovely Venus gets into a bit of a tangle with stern Saturn on the 10th of the month. She was having such a great time of late that she forgot to pay bills and due respect to those who matter most or focus at work. Do all of the above to appease cranky pants and see your life get back on track.
The New Moon Solar Eclipse on the 11th of August urges us to take note from Saturn and not promise more than we can deliver. Solar Eclipses essentially engulf all of the Solar traits of analysis and logic to reveal the more Moon driven world of intuition and creativity. But given the very Mercurial nature of this Moon we may get carried away with the ideal of what we want to achieve instead of the nuts and bolts to anchor a dream. Solar Eclipses are quite unstable times and can slam shut and fling open doors with dizzying speed. Think long term and you should stay off the whirly gig.
Fiesty Mars in retrograde steps back into Capricorn on the 13th of the month placing conversations had in May front and centre again. You will feel extremely compelled to tie up loose ends now but please be aware that this is a work in progress and you may not see the finished results until after September 10.
The 18th and the 19th of August are full of promise as talk planet Mercury inches forward again and meets with optimistic Jupiter. Jupiter also aligns with Neptune raising our sights and bolstering our confidence. Glory be.
On the 23th of the month the Sun comes to visit streamlined and focused Virgo. Two days later on the 25th we have a wonderful Grand Earth Trine with the Sun, future oriented Uranus and sturdy and disciplined Saturn. Make hay while the Sun shines! This time can see your visions of tomorrow firmly take hold in today. Reach out to those who also share this vision.
The Full Moon in the sign of Pisces on the 26th of August forms a gorgeous kite formation in the heavens. This pattern activates growth and the harnessing of opportunities in our lives. Pisces speaks to what our soul truly needs for an awakening to occur. This is our hearts yearning and the meaning of life, not just balancing our bank accounts. What stirs your spirit?
Venus steps on Pluto’s toes on the same day. Take heed of the aforementioned themes and do not be manipulated by the darker side of your desire nature or someone else's for that matter!
Mars - finally! - turns direct on the 27th of the month. It will take some time to move forward and gain speed but you may feel a very distinct shift in your energies then as the planet of action, battle, sexuality and military strategy dusts itself off and gets back on its feet. All of the lessons learned and crappy behaviour witnessed from the 26th of June will be dealt with with a firm hand. Parasites and rodents beware. Mars is just about to send you scurrying.
If this time has been tough for you ponder on this…” Don’t think I’m not broken in this pretty little shell, but I’m here to prove against all odds that flowers grow in hell.” - Celia Knutson
Now stop, take a deep breath and remember who the hell you are. Never stop growing.
Go get em Tigers. See you next month. xxx
Soooooo, at any given time throughout the course of July we will have 5 planets and one asteroid in retrograde, ie going backwards. Planets never actually go backwards but to us hoomans on earth it seems so. And its all about us apparently.
What does this rather unusual lineup foretell? Well, retrograde activity is one where the energies of a particular planet become internalised. With half of the solar system contemplating its navel it can make even the most seemingly straightforward of plans become weighed down, experience hitches or delays or be completely abandoned altogether. This brings to the surface feelings of resentment, agitation or exhaustion. But this is life and we’ve got to learn to roll with it. It is not something to be fearful about but more conscious of.
If this is you, trust me, you won’t be the only one feeling this way. And this is precisely why I’m writing about it. Because the energy of July introduces the eclipses to boot. So there is a strong push for change ( eclipses ) at the same time as things moving much slower than may be comfortable ( retrogrades ). Dummy spits, eruptions and getting our cranky trousers in a God Almighty twist are potential manifestations. As is the complete opposite: manipulation, passive aggression, underhanded sneaky pants type behaviour.
Best way to deal? Review what is most important to you, what you hold true and dear. Be open to options that you hadn’t even considered. Close one door before trying to break down another. Cut out the dead wood in your world. This includes financial, emotional and spiritual habits that are holding you down.Or back. Slowly and steadily releasing the bottleneck to get to the real juice. The elixir of life.
And if you see others in free fall? Please bring compassion to the table.
July is a hot tamale alright compañeros. You’ll taste the first hint of spice from the 5th of the month to the 9th. Your opinions may get you into hot water if you aren’t willing to acknowledge those of others. Fortunately there are some lovely aspects to ease tension and help us see eye to eye. Creative types will be on fire.
Jupiter, our Greater Benefic, moves forward on the 10th of July enhancing our luck and encouraging us to reach out and touch faith. Plans gone awry since March are on the cards once more. Remember to take your time and research as much as possible.
On the same day beautiful Venus moves into streamlined Virgo where she will stay until August 6. This is a great time to channel all that pent up retrograde energy into anything and everything functional, well maintained and eliminating toxins from your being. And your soul.
Venus meets wildcard Uranus on the 12th of the month and offers support in changing the way you think about matters of emotions and your worth. This is good because also on this day we have the effervescent Sun having a showdown with powerful Pluto. If someone tries to control or make you feel less than, be mindful they can only do so with your permission.
The above energy is extremely apparent the next day on the 13th of July with the first of our eclipses in the security loving sign of Cancer. This New Moon Solar eclipse is very much enmeshed in the Plutonian issues of power, control, manipulation, transformation and breaking down all that no longer is valid. As the Moon darkens the Sun, the depth of our feelings about particular themes involving home, family and nurturance bubble to the surface. This begins a fresh 6 month cycle of realigning your outside to match the inside.
The Sun moves into gorgeous Leo on the 22nd of the month sparking our passions and the need to shine. And why the hell not I say? If you don’t, no one will do it for you.
The 24th, 25th and 26th of July invites detours and distractions particularly in our social, romantic and financial lives. Keep a very close eye on expenditures whether energetic or monetary. Communications planet Mercury begins his retrograde on the 26th of the month until the August the 19th causing potential stuff ups and crossed wires. I have however, found it an interesting time for lost objects and people from the past reappearing.
The longest total Lunar Eclipse of the century makes its debut on the 27th of July. Hold onto your hats babies! This is one fiery, fiesty Blood Moon. Lunar eclipses by nature are times of endings, letting go and release. People, aspirations, ways of being suddenly become invalid. The Earth throws its shadow across the Moon, pushing the emotional reset button. It clears away the rubbish. This is a highly unpredictable time due to links from headstrong Mars and erratic Uranus. Steer clear from those who love drama and think ohhhhhh, about 1000 times before acting.
And there you have it. Something ends. Something begins. There may be a real before and after feeling to July. Our terrain different, our perspective altered. May it bring you to a place of wonder, peace and firm, supportive foundations to build your dreams upon.
See you in August my friends. xx
