Soooooo, at any given time throughout the course of July we will have 5 planets and one asteroid in retrograde, ie going backwards. Planets never actually go backwards but to us hoomans on earth it seems so. And its all about us apparently.
What does this rather unusual lineup foretell? Well, retrograde activity is one where the energies of a particular planet become internalised. With half of the solar system contemplating its navel it can make even the most seemingly straightforward of plans become weighed down, experience hitches or delays or be completely abandoned altogether. This brings to the surface feelings of resentment, agitation or exhaustion. But this is life and we’ve got to learn to roll with it. It is not something to be fearful about but more conscious of.
If this is you, trust me, you won’t be the only one feeling this way. And this is precisely why I’m writing about it. Because the energy of July introduces the eclipses to boot. So there is a strong push for change ( eclipses ) at the same time as things moving much slower than may be comfortable ( retrogrades ). Dummy spits, eruptions and getting our cranky trousers in a God Almighty twist are potential manifestations. As is the complete opposite: manipulation, passive aggression, underhanded sneaky pants type behaviour.
Best way to deal? Review what is most important to you, what you hold true and dear. Be open to options that you hadn’t even considered. Close one door before trying to break down another. Cut out the dead wood in your world. This includes financial, emotional and spiritual habits that are holding you down.Or back. Slowly and steadily releasing the bottleneck to get to the real juice. The elixir of life.
And if you see others in free fall? Please bring compassion to the table.
July is a hot tamale alright compañeros. You’ll taste the first hint of spice from the 5th of the month to the 9th. Your opinions may get you into hot water if you aren’t willing to acknowledge those of others. Fortunately there are some lovely aspects to ease tension and help us see eye to eye. Creative types will be on fire.
Jupiter, our Greater Benefic, moves forward on the 10th of July enhancing our luck and encouraging us to reach out and touch faith. Plans gone awry since March are on the cards once more. Remember to take your time and research as much as possible.
On the same day beautiful Venus moves into streamlined Virgo where she will stay until August 6. This is a great time to channel all that pent up retrograde energy into anything and everything functional, well maintained and eliminating toxins from your being. And your soul.
Venus meets wildcard Uranus on the 12th of the month and offers support in changing the way you think about matters of emotions and your worth. This is good because also on this day we have the effervescent Sun having a showdown with powerful Pluto. If someone tries to control or make you feel less than, be mindful they can only do so with your permission.
The above energy is extremely apparent the next day on the 13th of July with the first of our eclipses in the security loving sign of Cancer. This New Moon Solar eclipse is very much enmeshed in the Plutonian issues of power, control, manipulation, transformation and breaking down all that no longer is valid. As the Moon darkens the Sun, the depth of our feelings about particular themes involving home, family and nurturance bubble to the surface. This begins a fresh 6 month cycle of realigning your outside to match the inside.
The Sun moves into gorgeous Leo on the 22nd of the month sparking our passions and the need to shine. And why the hell not I say? If you don’t, no one will do it for you.
The 24th, 25th and 26th of July invites detours and distractions particularly in our social, romantic and financial lives. Keep a very close eye on expenditures whether energetic or monetary. Communications planet Mercury begins his retrograde on the 26th of the month until the August the 19th causing potential stuff ups and crossed wires. I have however, found it an interesting time for lost objects and people from the past reappearing.
The longest total Lunar Eclipse of the century makes its debut on the 27th of July. Hold onto your hats babies! This is one fiery, fiesty Blood Moon. Lunar eclipses by nature are times of endings, letting go and release. People, aspirations, ways of being suddenly become invalid. The Earth throws its shadow across the Moon, pushing the emotional reset button. It clears away the rubbish. This is a highly unpredictable time due to links from headstrong Mars and erratic Uranus. Steer clear from those who love drama and think ohhhhhh, about 1000 times before acting.
And there you have it. Something ends. Something begins. There may be a real before and after feeling to July. Our terrain different, our perspective altered. May it bring you to a place of wonder, peace and firm, supportive foundations to build your dreams upon.
See you in August my friends. xx
Felt a distinct shift in gears following the exciting and, at times, intense nature of May’s aspects? The beginning of June sees momentum build with some delightful astrological activity. On the 1st of the month we yearn to connect with those of a like mind and our creative juices are on fire. Sensual Venus forms a beautiful angle to highly demonstrative Jupiter and then to soulful Neptune on the second of June. Expect romance, ideals and inspiration to be at the forefront of our imaginations. And a glorious soak in the bath.
Talkative and easily distracted Gemini is head honcho on the 6th of the month which brings a flurry of communication and sociability but the very same day Venus ( yes her again! ) stares down power loving Pluto. Be careful not to lead anyone astray because things could go very deep, very fast. The following day on the 7th of June the normally happy go lucky Sun becomes ensnared in Neptune’s tendrils, causing confusion, whether intended or not, and lowering our defences. A flirt fest could become a tad messy. Ohh err. Only say it if you mean it folks.
Mercury moves into security loving Cancer on the 12th of the month until June the 29th, turning our minds to feathering our nests and those we consider to be family. Our collective consciousness becomes much more sensitive and potentially parochial.
“ I understand how you feel " is a good term to remember now.
The Gemini New Moon on the 13th of June is quite an emotional one, unusual considering this highly intellectual sign usually breaks out in hives at any sign of molly coddling. Reason being? It makes a lovely aspect to gentle Ceres, Goddess of the Harvest, motherhood and family. These two chunks of rock are supremely feminine in nature and there is a real need for closeness, desirability and sensuality. Its not bodice ripping per se but more the nurturing type of physical expression. Venus moves into Glamazon Leo adding to the distinctly sensual vibe. She stays there until July the 9th.
The aforementioned lush Leo Venus gets a rather rude shock on the 15th of the month sparking bolts from the blue in regards to our love lives, finances and the need to feel valued. Do not issue an ultimatum on this day or you may be given your marching orders. There is a real “ irresistible force meets an immovable object" energy around now. Communicative Mercury connects with stern Saturn on the 16th of June bringing a serious tone to our thoughts and conversations.
Think planet Mercury snaps back into shape from the 19th of the month. Optimism and hope return. Ahhhh. The Sun moves into snuggly Cancer on the 21st of June until the 22nd of July and turns our attention to home, comfort and whether our emotional needs are being met. Are they?
The week of the 23rd to the 30th of June is a veritable smorgasbord of Astro activity. It is seriously like a box of chocolates.
First off the mark is Mercury running headlong into Pluto. That ultimatum thing? Its back. Sidestep folks with agendas and respect issues.
On the 25th pleasure loving Venus goes O.T.T. with boundless Jupiter. The urge to splurge is real so you’ve been given a heads up.
Gung ho Mars goes into retreat ( retrograde ) on the 26th of the month until August the 27th. This happens once every two years and can signify simmering tension, passive aggressive behaviour and decreased energy and productivity. This is NOT the time to embark upon brand new ventures, start major work or projects or completely lose your crap at someone. Especially the last one. This is because the energy of Mars, the very one that gives us fire in our belly, passion, anger and competitive strategy, is turned within. Strangely enough, all you may be thinking about are the previously mentioned Mars traits.
But remember …” Those who initiate first, lose. “ - Lynn Koiner
We now have a total of five planets in retrograde motion. It is rare and potentially very frustrating. The past may return but just because it taps you on your shoulder doesn't mean you need turn around. You're a very different creature now.
The best way to utilise this time? Complete unfinished tasks, repair or renovate and review strategies.
The Sun gets right up Saturn’s nose on the 27th of June and ego vs responsibility materialises. Oh joy.
Our Full Moon in serious Capricorn on the 28th of the month aligns with duty lover Saturn. This combo is ambitious, forthright and believes in tough love. Family unity and loyalty, discipline and hard work towards a common goal are key words. Don’t expect to be putting up with any whining.
Mercury moves into proud Leo on the 28th of June all the way until September the 5th. This mix is faithful, ardent and artistic but on the 30th it may become bombastic, self centred and egotistical. The choice is yours. Please remember the advice for Mars retrograde and keep calm and carry on. Howard Haters and Snivelling Sally’s can go back from whence they came. You’ve got work to do.
See you in July me hearties. xx

May is pivotal for many reasons. If you felt like the events of April brought you to the conclusion that things couldn’t go on as before or you just could not revisit the past then this month gives a taster as to what the future holds or at the very least, the unlocked potential that awaits. May sees the shift of our collective consciousness turn to what gives us a sense of security in our lives and our perception of what brings us peace of mind, particularly on a financial level. Notice I say perception. Can that be tweaked or even given a complete overhaul? Does it truly, as you’ve led yourself to believe, give you what you think? It’s very much an out with the old,
in the new kind of month.
From the 6th to the 9th of the month, the feeling of being pulled and pushed is very apparent. Our conversation planet Mercury is locking horns with boundary planet Pluto. Our words have the ability to heal or harm, so please choose yours wisely. There may be a strong desire to escape from the above tussle as Venus, ruler of all things finance and love - its a worth thing - gets swept away by fluffy Neptune. Dot your i’s and cross your t’s in any negotiations to do with amour and moolah. Hope returns on May 9th, and whilst I’m all for following your heart, do remember to take your head with you.
Theres a cracker of activity from May the 11th to the 16th. In fact this is where the action which will last the entire month truly starts. First we have a gorgeous link on the 11th ( my birthday - boom! ) from powerful Pluto to the steadfast Taurus Sun, urging us to plant the seed for our future growth. Mercury once again stumbles into fiery territory on the 12th of the month so do not be pushed into confrontations then. Make this your mantra for the day.
The very next day this same planet shifts signs into stable and earthy Taurus, where it will stay until May the 29th. Think Ella Fitzgerald. Hmmm. Beautiful. Turn your thoughts to long range plans, putting down roots and speaking plainly from the heart.
The Taurus New Moon which falls on the 15th of the month is unusual to say the least. Taurus is known for its unflappable facade and the need to do things in its own time. It points to what provides stability in our lives. But a unique astrological event aligns on the same day. Uranus, our planet of upheaval, change and enlightenment, moves into this sign where, apart from a few months later on this year, it will stay until
April 2026. You see the dichotomy? Slow and steady meets breaking from tradition. So this New Moon has some fizz. Expect to see major change over the next few years in the way in which we view and use the banking system, virtual money, our connection with food and the planet and sustenance. The old way will not suffice.
Mars shifts signs on May the 16th into the expansive sign of Aquarius and runs headlong into a spat with Uranus. Differences of option and ethics collide. People will be more inclined to stand their ground that day. You have been warned!
Conversations on the 18th of the month are much more stable- theres that word again! - and on the 20th of May peace loving Venus moves into scrumptious Cancer until June the 14th. You may want to beautify your home, eat well and reach out to those who you consider family. Lovely. Bed anyone?
The Sun shifts gears into savvy Gemini on May the 21st until June the 22nd. This sign thrives on change and loves to connect with those of a like mind, so go seek your pack. The 23rd of the month until the 25th lends high energy, accomplishing much in a small amount of time. This time urges us to join forces with those who can also see the big picture. The 26th of May will not dampen our spirits but will definitely give a reality check in terms of our relationships and cash flow. And thats okay! Being honest with yourself is where it all starts.
Our beautiful Sagittarius full Moon on May the 29th makes a great connection to assertive Mars. This gives us the motivation and the courage to not only dream big but to action those plans with confidence and vigour. What an awesome way to round out a rather exciting and unusual month. See you in June! Be good to you. xx
The last few days of March may have left you feeling ostracised, criticised or emotionally spent. This energy culminated on the final day, the 31st, thanks to the Libra Full Moon. Crossed wires, hurt hearts and despondent spirits will require a hefty game plan right up until the 16th of this month, so take stock of emotions and get to work. If you can, use all of your might and concentrate on long term goals, especially on the 2nd and 7th of April when grit and determination will have far reaching and potentially very lucrative outcomes. The 4th and 5th of the month will test your resolve in your beliefs but genuine principles will always remain true. Remember…” It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.” - Global Expert Space
On the 11th, 12th and 14th of April there is a whole lotta sweet mixed in with some kick ass spice. The galant Aries Sun clashes with powerful Pluto producing fireworks and a battle of wills par excellence. This is not the time to take on someone or something stronger than you. Displays of ego or out and out aggression will be met with a very firm hand indeed. If someone antagonises you, count to ten. Or maybe100. At the same time we have peacemaker Venus enter the fray and offer an olive branch. Kindness ultimately wins out and a wonderful solution to a tricky situation appears. Phew! Love reigns supreme.
The 15th of April heralds a time of change. Our communications planet Mercury, readies itself to once again move forward after its retrograde phase. The last 3 weeks have been a time of review and plans recently put on hold get a second wind. The following day, the 16th, we have the Aries New Moon. This is the “newest” of the New Moons and is a wonderful time for pressing reboot and starting afresh. Aries energy loves being first and this Moon is an astrological shiny start to the year. Not only that but the Moon sits alongside innovative Uranus. This planet urges us to really connect with what makes us unique and stake our claim in the world. Up to the 18th of the month and even beyond expect conversations to have the emphasis on me, myself and I. Finances and heart felt matters also get given a green light.
Discipline planet Saturn turns retrograde or backwards from April 17th until September 6th. This is a great time to reorganise the structure in our worlds and extricate whatever has become a burden or drain. Seek much needed support and be willing to say no. You can do it. I know you can!
The Sun moves into luscious Taurus on the 20th of April signifying a time of stopping to smell the roses. And chocolate. Comfort is key.
The 22nd to the 26th of the month packs a punch. Pluto retraces its steps until September the 30th, which is brilliant for eliminating toxins, even the two legged variety, from our lives and seeking a total rejuvenation. Old habits that limit you are in the firing line. Mercury once again brings up conversations from April the 5th. It is now time to put those worries to bed. Action planet Mars aligns forces with aforementioned Pluto, heightening ambitions and confidence. Stay humble and you can achieve great things.
Gorgeous Venus moves into communicative Gemini on the 24th of the month until May the 19th, peaking our curiosity and sociability. Its sexy to be smart now so get your thinking cap on.
The last days of April see order and calmness return, even with the Full Moon in Scorpio on the 30th of the month. Sensitivity is a strength, not a weakness. In fact it is a superpower. Yield yours with grace and dignity and don’t be afraid to look others in the eye to make a true connection. I’ll catch you on the flip side.
Good luck xx
Our emotional world is under the spotlight as March begins due to the majority of planets found in water signs. Don’t be surprised if you or others feel a strong desire to connect with and be understood by those who are nearest and dearest. Supportive gestures and loving get togethers could really bolster spirits.
This month has two full Moons with the first in the sign of Virgo on March 2. Clearing out the clutter both literally and figuratively will be top priority and we get super creative with ideas on how to streamline our lives. Motivation, however, may be hard to come by as well as getting to the bottom of an important matter. If in doubt, don’t. Things will become clearer over the next few days.
There are some truly gorgeous moments to be had on the 4th of the month when the inspiring Sun makes its annual meeting with soulful Neptune. This is not a time to go it alone or have your own agenda. At its highest vibration this can awaken our true calling and unite people for their highest good. Creativity and spirituality abound.
If you’ve felt a tad waterlogged over the last few weeks you should feel a distinct shift from the 6th of March. Think planet Mercury and sweet Venus move into feisty Aries, revving up passions as well as conversations. Things move quickly and the urge to kick a plan into high gear will become irresistible though not thinking it out properly could backfire, especially after the 23rd of the month when Mercury goes retrograde. Slow and steady.
Jupiter changes directions on the 8th of March until July the 10th. This is the time when we rework our visions of how we create abundance and find out whether the path we have chosen truly resonates with us. Anything that goes against our morals or values at this time will gradually be moved out of our lives.
Blocks presented on the 11th and then again on the 13th of March could have some pretty unusual solutions. Keep an open mind and enlist the help of those who have your back and you will turn a situation around quick smart and to your benefit. A word of warning…this isn’t the time to challenge those in authority. People will be feeling vulnerable so be careful not to step on any toes.
The new Moon on the 17th of the month in sensitive Pisces broadens our horizons and gives us a feeling of hope. That coupled with courageous Mars moving into ambitious Capricorn on the very same day raises our sights and gets us to work steadily towards our goals.
For the rest of the month its pedal to the metal. On the 20th of March the Sun shifts into Aries, marking the beginning of the astrological calendar and a total of 4 planets in this daring fire sign. The time of going with the flow is gone as you are plonked directly in the driver’s seat of your life. From March 23rd issues surrounding finances and how much power you wield in your world comes to a head, as does how you handle obstacles. This is an excellent time to brainstorm but please be aware that Mercury is retrograde until April so there may be a few changes in direction yet.
The 29th of March sizzles with flirtations so get your sexy on. Money could appear from unexpected sources.
The final day of the month sees the second full Moon in the relationship-oriented sign of Libra. Whilst there is a genuine need to form harmonious bonds with others, discipline planet Saturn steps in and asks us what we are willing to do for love and if that is being reciprocated. A major reality check ensues. Loving Venus moves into her home sign of Taurus, suggesting it’s the simple things in life that often are the best.
February dawns off the back of a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse, heightening emotions and where our loyalties lie. For those in the northern hemisphere, there will be no Full Moon this month, which is a particularly rare event. The last time this occurred was in 1999. If you haven’t been getting the emotional support you need then this is the time to explore what fills your cup in matters of home and the heart. The energy is still quite electrified so may take a few days to calm and centre. Open and honest communication leads to inspiration on February the 3rd and your hopes and dreams are given weight.
Loving Venus is well and truly centre stage from February the 4th until the 10th, using her wit and charm just in time for Valentines Day. Unique and special ways in which to connect are brought to the fore and you’ll be itching to do something different with those who matter most. You may want to go over the top with gifts of love then so just make sure that the bank balance can keep up! For those seeking someone special, a person outside of your usual romantic “type” could become appealing, as will those from different cultural or philosophic backgrounds.
All of our planets are moving forward this month, urging us to put into action plans that have been stalled from late last year. Our confidence to do so is given a boost from the 10th to the 14th of the month, due to the influence of lucky Jupiter and original Uranus. This combination crackles with activity. Be sure to remain open to others needs though, as ego with a capital E is in the air.
The New Moon in the freedom loving sign of Aquarius on the 15th of February is embedded with potent Solar Eclipse energy. This stirs the winds of change and brings the promise of new ways to present your distinct talents to the world. It is closely linked with self-expression planet Mercury, urging you to walk the walk and talk the talk. Thoughts themselves just won’t cut it.
The above theme continues on the 17th and the 18th of the month but your energy may be starting to flag. There is a very big shift from the highly sociable vibe that has carried February to a much more reflective tone. Getting away may be high on your list of priorities with nature and quiet calling. There are also undercurrents of things not being all as they appear, so follow your gut instincts. This is especially so on the 21st and on the 25th of February.
The month ends on a passionate note with words of love and caring being bolstered by a far-reaching plan. Whatever seed is sown will take hold and grow roots. Beautiful things can be achieved, so nourish and nurture what you hold dear.
And so it begins! 2018 commences with a lush Full Moon in the home loving sign of Cancer on January 2nd, bringing forth the need to connect with those who matter most and ensuring your emotional world is being tended to. Subtle and sensitive Neptune urges us to take a well-needed time out after the mad rush to the finish line of what was 2017. If your body says rest, please listen. Full Moon’s signify a letting go of sorts, so wrap up what needs to be left behind now. Creative and spiritual pursuits call, or at the very least, a soothing cup of tea.
It’s all systems go from the 6th of January onwards. There are some truly magnificent planetary alignments just itching to be harnessed so make hay while the sun shines. The first is a link from communication planet Mercury to innovative Uranus. Ideas and conversations are highly creative and introduce “think outside the box” solutions to a dilemma from August of last year.
On the same day is the annual meeting of Mars and Jupiter. This is a force to be reckoned with! Found in the intuitive sign of Scorpio, this celestial combination is wonderful for initiating bold projects and giving you the energy and confidence to push them over the finish line. Mars is in rulership in Scorpio, giving you extra swagger. Be mindful that what you are seeking to achieve is something you care deeply about. Scorpio energy can spot the inauthentic from a mile off.
The love of power or the power of love is a massive theme on the 8th, 9th and 10th of January. Stepping up to the plate in terms of what you’re willing to do for a partner, whether in romance or business, and if you’re receiving that in return will be a hot topic. The flipside of this intensity is the need for control. You can move mountains now , as the energy is epic to say the least, but check in as to any hidden agendas lurking beneath the surface. That includes your own! Discussions around freedom versus duty come off the back of this time on the 13th and 14th of the month.
The Capricorn New Moon on January 17th snuggles up nice and close to Venus signifying fresh starts in love and money. With six planets crowding this ambitious sign she may work her magic in your career as well. Perfect! Although conversations will be commitment oriented stay open to changes in direction.
The Sun moves into easy breezy Aquarius on January the 20th, opening the flood gates to our bi annual eclipse season. The Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in the regal sign of Leo on the 31st sees January out with a bang! It lends conviction to make a break from whom or whatever has kept us unfulfilled. Our courage is awakened and opens the door to the future. It whispers; I’ve got your back if you’re willing to take the first step. Take a deep breath lovelies…
I just had the coolest day. There was a full Moon in Cancer, highlighting family, emotions, home and belonging. We are in the time of Capricorn, which turns our attention to history, structure, our ancestors and respect. Pluto is in the mix as well, deepening our connections and feelings. ❤️
I’ve been up all night talking to my children and both my partner and I were floored about how profound the love of family is. It was palpable. And brought such joy. 🧚♂️🧚♀️
I had some great people come for readings, one being a fantastic community elder with her equally lovely daughter. They’d travelled a very long way and the reads were so wonderful to do. It made me fall in love with my work ( how very Capricorn!) all over again. 🔥
In a culture that celebrates youth, often the wisdom of our elders gets lost. But today it was all around me and I realise now, through being a parent myself, the value of passing on your experience and life stories to the younger generations. 📖
Sure we have to earn respect, but we also have to give it. People just open up when we do. And the tales they share? Utterly inspiring. 🌏
Hope you had a great day too. Xxx💋
Sooooo...how are you feeling? ❤️
Are you looking forward to ringing in a New Year with hope and anticipation or has 2017 left you feeling a tad hung over, bewildered or blindsided? 🎉
Being a big believer in initiating things with a clear intention, I love to do the following ritual which is perfect for this time of year.
It’s called write it, burn it, bury it. 📝🔥🌳
First off, get to writing your experiences for the year gone by in every shape and form. Sometimes lessons come on two legs! Jot it all down, the good, the bad and the ugly. 📝
Next use a wee terracotta or fire proof bowl and - outside please! - set the above list alight. Watch the fire transmute and cleanse the energy of 2017. Be mindful of the things you are grateful for. Even if they’re only small. 🔥
Then pop down all you wish to bring into your life for 2018. Connect with the feeling that these things would bring you instead of the object themselves. Use words like calm, peaceful, empowering, supportive, joy, harmony etc. Really go for it here. You’re writing the book of your life so why shouldn’t you? Don’t hold back. Free will is a biggie so make sure what you’re wishing for isn’t encroaching upon another’s right to choose. 📖
Now find yourself a luscious tree or indoor greenery and plant that list. Place it deep down into the soil. Water and nurture your dreams throughout the year. With dedication and devotion see those visions take hold and grow. Let nature do the rest...🌳
For those of you wanting to peer around the corner to see what January 2018 has in store, take a look at my Astro blog here...💫
A safe, happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year to all of you! Be good to others. And yourselves.
Love, Deb Xxx🌏🎉💖✨💋
